Project Requirements
The project required the installation of a pressure reducing valve (PRV) bypass arrangement on an existing cast iron trunk main to improve operational flexibility and network management.
What We Did
JPS Utilities carried out deep excavations to expose the existing 16-inch cast iron distribution main, implementing safe excavation techniques and stepped excavations where required.
We supplied, fabricated and installed a bespoke 150mm ductile iron PRV bypass assembly, ensuring compatibility with the existing network infrastructure. Following installation, the site was fully reinstated, including agricultural land restoration and chamber construction works.
The Outcome
The completed bypass installation enhanced operational control of the water network while providing a robust and reliable solution designed for long-term performance.
