Lamlash, Isle of Arran

Project Requirements

The project was designed to link existing water mains and improve supply capacity within the Lamlash network through the installation of new pipework and pressure management infrastructure.

What We Did

JPS Utilities established site access and protection measures, including stock fencing and drainage installations to support construction activities. We stripped and stored topsoil across the working area before excavating and installing 253m of new barrier pipe.

The project also included the installation of three 80mm pressure reducing valves on a ductile iron bypass arrangement. Following installation, we completed pressure testing, chlorination, sampling and commissioning before undertaking comprehensive agricultural reinstatement across the easement.

The Outcome

The scheme successfully strengthened the local water network, improving supply resilience and operational performance for customers in the Lamlash area.

Consultant

I’d like to say that I was very impressed by the guys that were on the job. The work area was tidy and safe with the barriers up. Kept me up to date with progress when I stopped to speak. The job was quickly completed and left incredibly tidy with grass turned back in – you wouldn’t know they’d been there!
